The participation fee depends on availability due to the current number of registered participants. So it pays to be quick here, too!

Discount for all first-time marathoners!

Bring a friend to Berlin and she/he will receive a special welcome offer! Each inline skater who has never participated in the BMW BERLIN-MARATHON Inlineskating before can register for only half the price by naming a full-paying person (must be registered for the BMW BERLN-MARATHON Inlineskating) who recruited her/him. 

1. The recruiter registers for the marathon online as usual.

2. Newcomer: Send an e-mail to neuling@scc-events.com and tell us the name of your recruiter. We will send you a personal access code for your discounted registration. 

Information for skaters

The BMW BERLIN-MARATHON Inlineskating is organized according to the regulations of the German Roller Sports and Inline Federation (DRIV).

  • all inline skater year 2008 and older are allowed to participate
  • only inline skates (wheel size max. 125 mm) and quads are permitted

Skaters receive their race number in duplicate. Both numbers have to be attached upright on the outside of the thighs and must be worn during the race.

There is a transponder for timekeeping on the back of each number. These must not be bent or damaged in any other way.

  • The starting blocks are organised by your best time as stated in the registration.
  • If this is your first marathon race, you will start in the last block (Block F).
  • All participants deserve a fair race, so please be honest during the registration process and enter the correct block on race day!

Participants who reach the Brandenburg Gate after the time limit can no longer cross the finish line for technical reasons, will be removed from the race and will not be included in the results list. Only participants who skate over the finish mat until the finish time will receive a medal, refreshment and massage.

Wearing a helmet is required. It is not possible to start the race without a helmet. Further protective equipment is recommended. 

  • You will receive a transparent clothing bag and a sticker with your race number when you pick up your race material. Please apply the sticker to your bag.
  • Clothing and valuables to be taken to the event site must be in the clothing bag.
  • The items must be loose in the bag: You may not put a backpack or sports bag in it. One additional bag for your skates is permitted.
  • Luggage is prohibited on the event site!
  • You hand in your clothing bag at the designated truck at the start area and can pick it up from the truck after the finish.
  • keep on the right and let faster skaters pass on the left (as in road traffic)
  • do not skate in groups, but in slipstream to leave room for passing
  • announce overtaking by shouting
  • avoid cutting curves
  • look over your shoulder before changing lanes

Hand signals

  • both arms pointing to left or right = left or right turn
  • moving both arms sideways up & down = let them roll - pay special attention!
  • both arms up = Attention! Slow down! Brake if necessary!
  • one hand pointing down = pothole/ road gully or similar
  • arm pointing to the side = participant wants to leave or join group
